The Right Place at The Right Time
I'm so grateful for those who stop by my blog to see what's happening with Mike Meyer Photography. When I first created my blog, I saw it as a way to present my work, provide quick previews of photo sessions, and give a small glimpse into my life as I pursue my dreams. I genuinely desire to create a positive impact on others in one form or the other and hope that my photography & blog entries help with that goal. Making a difference in other's lives gives me a great sense of purpose so I hope you find something here that helps you through the day.
You know being in the right place at the right time isn't always by chance. As a photographer, you learn to anticipate the moment while looking for what may happen instead of capturing an event with random results. I "just happen" to catch the moment because I've trained myself to constantly be on the look out for it which ushers in the opportunity for me to capture it. It's amazing how this holds true in daily living as well. If you look for the opportunity to make your dreams a reality, you'll find more often than not, that the doors swing wide open for you to walk through them. This can come in the simplest form of ceasing the moment to encourage someone, coach someone in a common pursuit, or just by telling someone how much you appreciate them. In making this a part of you life you'll be amazed by how often you just seem to be in the right place at the right time.
I caught this great moment as Danny presented his groove for his new bride Veronica at their wedding reception.

Just Tell Them
I had a fantastic lunch appointment today on Las Olas with Dawn Kirk, a future bride who encouraged me with these words... "Mike, the reason I've come to you is because this is your passion. If I could take beautiful images I wouldn't need you, but you are the artist and I need you to take hold of the day and add your creative touch." When someone not only values your work, but more importantly values you as an artist...a creator...a visionary, this is one of the greatest compliments one could offer. I love what I do but....i think I love sharing what I do with others even more. Just a reminder: if there is someone in your life or even someone you don't even know that you believe deserves recognition, then tell them. Whether you write them a letter, take them to lunch, drop them an email or whatever you think of...just don't keep it to yourself.

Claudia and Paul E-session
Arriving to my home with outfits in hand and smiles from ear to ear, Claudia and Paul were primed and ready for their engagement photo shoot. One of the greatest inspirations for me is a couple that is as excited, if not more than I am, about our time together. Claudia had only one request…”Mike, we just want to have great colors in our images.” I would have to say that color would well define the entire day from personalities to images and everything in between. We had another phenomenal day providing the Mike Meyer photo experience to the fullest.
Additionally, Julien Diaz from
Merge-studios in Miami joined us to capture video of these two as we traveled through West Palm Beach to find the hottest locations. Julien is young, creative and full of talent: if you’re considering video capture of your big day, check out Julien’s work for sure.
Claudia and Paul: Thank you for being so much fun to work with. We had as good of a time as you did and look forward to your wedding!

Yoel and Yuleisy Wedding
There's no question in mind, these two truly have a deep love for one another. I met Yuleisy through
Rosie Hayden, the ever talented wedding planner for the Cocoplum, and quickly recognized her love and excitement about being married to Yoel. We started out with a beautiful blue Miami sky at the
Biltmore Hotel, where Yuleisy Acosta prepared in anticipation to meet Yoel Follo at the altar of the
Coral Gables Congregational Church. Little did we expect to receive rain showers on the way to the church and reception at the
Cocoplum however the events fell into place perfectly. Yoel & Yuleisy, thank you for choosing us to capture your spectacular wedding day as we appreciate the honor of working with such great couples.

I love the feeling of this image while Yuleisy was entering the church from the rain...stunning.

Vivianne and Junior: E-session
We had a day full of laughter with Vivianne and Junior as we captured the sincere romance of these two in perfect lighting. We continue to have the most amazing couples to work with - relaxed, friendly, down to earth couples who simply enjoy life to the fullest! Thanks you two for a fantastic day...we are looking forward to your wedding day. These images sum up the day for us...
